Services provided: Bid procurement; project leveling, and owner representation.

New York State Regional Food Hub LLC, a subsidiary of Council on the Environment, Inc. (d/b/a GrowNYC) is planning to construct a new 74,490 gsf Industrial Building as the new location of the New York State Regional Food Hub (the “Hub”). Signature Urban Properties LLC is the development consultant to the project.  The 3.4 acre property is located along Halleck Avenue in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx, New York.  

 

Approximately one-third of the building (20,592 gsf) will be constructed and occupied by GrowNYC for their own use with the balance of the shell building constructed for two future tenant leases.  The GrowNYC ground floor area is designed for cold storage and distribution of fruits and vegetables with administrative office space on the second floor.  A number of sustainable initiatives are a part of the design.

The building as proposed will house:

 

Ground Floor - Total Building: 61,983 gsf // GrowNYC Space: 16,547 gsf

Second Floor - Total Building: 12,507 gsf  // GrowNYC Space: 4,045 gsf

Total - Total Building: 74,490 gsf  // GrowNYC Space: 20,592 gsf
